Job description
Salary: £55,000 - 55,000 per year
Requirements:- Software programming experience using LabVIEW for production testing
- LabVIEW Core 2 training desirable as a minimum
- Some knowledge of Matlab, VB.net and VB6 programming to support existing test fixtures
- Hands-on experience debugging software controlling digital/analogue electronic hardware and power control systems
- Experience working with National Instruments digital I/O, analogue, and communication interfaces
- Experience delivering software solutions to control hardware drivers and motors in third-party test equipment
- Previous experience working within a production environment
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple departments
- Knowledge of National Instruments to develop automated solutions
- Experience interfacing to I2C, RS232, CANBUS, Modbus, etc.
- Experience writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and test scripts
- Experience using Atlassian JIRA/Confluence
- PC software build and set-up experience in a production environment
- Degree qualified in an appropriate engineering discipline, or equivalent through experience and alternative technical qualifications
- Provide software support for the various production lines in Southampton
- Provide software support to other areas of the business such as services/quality, R&D, and external customers where applicable
- Develop software, database, stored procedure, and work-planning solutions
- Investigate and resolve software bugs in a timely manner
- Work alongside Mechanical and Hardware engineers in the operations test engineering team to deliver software solutions
- Collaborate with the R&D department on new NVI/NPI software development work
- Develop and implement software to automate bespoke ATE systems built for the Southampton manufacturing lines
- Review or develop software and database/stored procedure solutions
- Investigate and resolve software issues to support the different manufacturing lines at Southampton
